My Answer: For me to like a book the characters are very important, sometimes even when the story is crap I finish the book just because I like the characters so much.
I like strong characters and I like to see the growth in characters during the course of the book or series. I like a strong heroine but them being a kick-ass is not a necessity. I don't like whinny, one dimensional and stupid characters. The same thing goes for the male. I like swoon worthy Alpha male's but sometimes a solid, funny and unconventional guy can do the trick also. A sense of humor goes a long way with me.
I love to know your opinions. So dash me a comment and I will check out your answers.
Exactly what you said :)

I think exactly the same. Characters are the concrete of a novel. Even if the plot itself is amazing, "fake" characters will ruin everything. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhiny characters are too big a pain in the ass, indeed. Oh, and humor can change everything. :)

Oh gosh, I don't like fake or whining characters either - they really annoy me! It's such a shame when a bad character ruins a good book.

I agree! I like strong characters, but they don't have to be that dramatically strong. NEw follower!

YEAH what is really great is when the protagonist slowly progresses into becoming a strong and awesome heroine! And yeah agreed, characters are immensely important for me too, after all we see everything through their eyes!!
